About Buddha Resort
Intro
Buddha Resort is a boutique hotel with 12 private ensuite rooms and a beautiful saltwater pool. We have a restaurant serving asian cuisine. We offer tours, daily yoga, Ice bath, surf lessons & equipment hire. We have a team of 20 trained staff plus experienced surf instructors so we can provide the best possible service.
Resort Style
Our resort is a mix of contemporary and native design with solid concrete structures and local nipa palm roofs set amongst the coconut trees. All of our rooms are ensuite with hot water, starlink, airconditioning, safety deposit box, smart TV and a balcony to relax whilst overlooking our tropical gardens. We now have a beautiful saltwater pool which was installed 2025. The resort is fully solar powered and we have backup generator.
Location
Buddha Resort is located in an ideal location, along the main tourism road, halfway between Cloud 9 and General Luna town centre. the beach across the road is an easy 2 minute stroll.

At Buddha we sleep early and rise early. Having a small number of rooms we can ensure you can unwind, relax and experience everything that Siargao has to offer. Our aim is to provide the ideal environment to enjoy and benefit from time away whilst exploring new experiences and a simple yet welcoming culture.

The Buddha Team
Our Story
Buddha Resort was founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Ashley and Aping, making it one of Siargao’s longest-established boutique resorts.
Ashley first discovered Siargao in 2010 while travelling through the Philippines in search of adventure and waves. Originally from England, he quickly fell in love with the island’s natural beauty, warm community, and surf. What began as a visit soon became a life-changing decision. Within months, Ashley chose to make Siargao his home and took the leap of establishing one of the island’s first dedicated surf resorts.
Aping was born and raised in Siargao and remains deeply connected to the island and its people. Her passion for surfing, particularly longboarding, has taken her from the shores of her Siargao to the international stage. A former Philippine National Longboard Champion, Aping made history as the first Filipino surfer to win a World Surf League event in Europe and continues to compete internationally on the World Surf League Longboard Tour.
“We love to travel and are often on the road exploring new surf spots. Our travels help with our innovation of the resort and we try to bring ideas we love and see in other places to Buddha, striving to constantly improve the customer experience. We love simplicity, nature, surfing and good food! We try to share these things through the resort.”
Over the years, Buddha Resort has grown alongside Siargao itself. While surfing remains at the heart of our story, the resort has evolved into a welcoming retreat for surfers, couples, families, and travellers looking to experience the island’s unique culture, natural beauty, and relaxed way of life.
As a family-owned and operated business, local roots remain central to everything we do. Many members of Aping’s family continue to play an important role in the day-to-day running of the resort, helping us provide the genuine warmth and hospitality that guests have come to expect.
Today, Buddha Resort is operated by a carefully selected team who share our values of authenticity, friendliness, and exceptional service. Whether you’re here to surf world-famous waves, explore the island, or simply unwind by the pool, our goal is to make every guest feel at home and leave with lasting memories of Siargao.
